Boggy Creek Monster: The Truth Behind the Legend (2016)

Feature Documentary About the Fouke Monster Debuts Next Saturday | Texarkana Today

This was a fun and interesting watch. When it comes to the unknown–UFOs, ghosts, cryptids, and the like–Bigfoot type creatures are the ones I’m most skeptical about. It seems to me something so large should have been discovered and catalogued among known species by now. But this documentary does a good job of telling the history of Fouke, Arkansas, its legendary monster, and the classic horror movie that made it famous. And, I must admit, some of the tales told by local residents are pretty convincing. Plus, Boggy Creek Monster was produced and narrated by Lyle Blackburn from one of my favorite bands–Ghoultown!

Check it out on Tubi.

Orgy of the Dead (1965)

Dead 2 Rights: Ed Wood Wednesdays, Week 14: "Orgy of the Dead" (1965)

Orgy of the Dead is little more than a parade of topless women dancing in a cemetery. The plot is thinner than gas station toilet paper. The acting couldn’t be worse if they actively tried to be bad. And the film’s editing and sound effects could probably be used in film schools as examples of how not to do it. But, hey, it’s a parade of topless women dancing in a cemetery. Freeway 2: Confessions of a Trickbaby (1999)

Freeway 2 | VHSCollector.com

Sex, drugs, and…vomiting. That’s just a few of the things you can expect from Freeway 2: Confessions of a Trickbaby. And if you’re wondering what the hell a trickbaby is, you’re not alone. A quick Google search hasn’t really cleared it up for me. According to the Urban Dictionary, a trick baby (two words) is a “child born to a prostitute as a result of a turned trick.”  Read more “Freeway 2: Confessions of a Trickbaby (1999)”

I wish James Wan would stop piddling with those stupid Aquaman movies. Get back to your roots, James! Saw and Insidious are what your fans want, not spandex and colorful fish. Hopefully Malignant, coming this fall, is what we’re all hoping for: a terrifying and original horror flick. Read more “Saw (2004)”

New Movie Rating System for PC3 Horror!

PC3’s Horror and Exploitation Movie Scale of Awesomeness!

The Quarantine Stream: 'The Return of the Living Dead' is Ready to Party – /Film

It’s time I came up with a rating system for all these horror and exploitation flicks I watch. To me, the traditional five-star and ten-point scales don’t tell enough to the casual reader of reviews. All it tells them is whether the reviewer liked the movie or not. And really, that doesn’t matter. What matters is why they liked or disliked the movie, and what they liked and disliked about it.
