I should have read the book first. Being a Joe Hill fan and Horns being one of the few works of his that I hadn’t read, I delayed watching the film adaptation with the intention of intaking the story in its original form first. Now, I probably won’t read it. Read more “Horns (2013)”

Robert Slump–Darkbreed
This Robert Slump guy makes some wicked tunes.
Run! Bitch Run! (2009)
Run! Bitch Run! starts with three simultaneous sex scenes and a bloody murder and dismemberment. Lots of tits, drugs, and violence is what you get here. And it’s entertaining enough, for a little while. Read more “Run! Bitch Run! (2009)”
The Brain Eaters (1958)
It’s a poor man’s Invasion of the Body Snatchers or The Thing. You know the story: invaders from space (or somewhere) are masquerading as people to take over the human population. In the case of The Brain Eaters, small parasites attach themselves to the back of people’s necks and control their actions by (I guess) clawing into their brains. Read more “The Brain Eaters (1958)”
Glenn Davis Interview (1990)
W. Glenn Davis is one of the least reliable Roswell witnesses, in my opinion. His story is too far-fetched, the way he claims to have been privy to so much information, yet no one else backs his claims. I remember seeing much of this interview on Unsolved Mysteries years ago, and they left out the part where Davis says he told a black soldier that his father used to use people like him in his coyote traps. Yikes. Anyway, the Davis story, I think, does not lend much credibility to the Roswell story.
Rob Zombie–Well, Everybody’s Fucking in a U.F.O.
When it involves UFOs or Sheri Moon, I’ll watch it. When it involves both…:-D
Harvest Lake (2016)
What do you do when you get full frontal nudity–both male and female–within the first five minutes of a film? Keep watching! Harvest Lake is a hyper-sexualized horror/exploitation flick. Even the plant life drips with erotic overtones. Read more “Harvest Lake (2016)”
Silent Horror–Beware
I Was a Teenage Frankenstein (1957)
As much as I enjoyed I Was a Teenage Werewolf, I figured I best give this one a go. It’s not bad, but it falls short of Werewolf in several ways. I Was a Teenage Frankenstein lacks the teen angst of its predecessor, for one thing, instead centering around the all-too-common mad scientist and the drama surrounding him. The scares inflicted on the audience by Werewolf are also largely missing from Frankenstein. But first things first… Read more “I Was a Teenage Frankenstein (1957)”
Graveyard Train–Ballad of Beelzebub
The horror is subtle, but spooky if you follow the lyrics. Plus, it’s a beautifully catchy tune!
